Born to Be a Badass

May 4, 2020

Tracey Kroot is a licensed and insured California private investigator with 30 years of experience in investigations, more than 17 years as a sworn peace officer, and seven years with the Social Services Agency of Santa Clara County. She also has experience in the world of corporate investigations, where she has worked undercover. Tracey was recently selected as one of the Power Women of the Year by Small Business Concierge magazine.

In this episode, Tracey and I discuss:

  • The scope of services Tracey is able to provide as a private investigator, from background checks on potential dates to complex and difficult situations requiring information the average person cannot get on their own.
  • The importance of having a well-thought-out plan before attempting to leave an abusive relationship, and the benefits of having a PI on your side to provide evidence to support the claims you are making.
  • The team approach to helping victims of violence or abuse, involving investigating and gathering evidence, legal advice, and therapeutic help.
  • Stepping into your own personal power as a woman.

Key Takeaways:

  • Private investigators have an arsenal of resources available to uncover information that could be vital to your, or a loved one’s, personal safety.
  • If you find yourself in a vulnerable position legally, there are people who can help you document things and research things to help you make your case.
  • A PI can stalk your stalker, but you must be prepared to handle your self-defense with training and appropriate weapons and techniques.
  • When you think that all is lost, maybe it’s actually time to step into something completely new, give it a try, and see what happens.

"I encourage all make an informed decision...Get the education, the information, so that you can make an informed decision on if you want to leave, or how you want to protect yourself and your children." —  Tracey Kroot
