Beverly Baker: A student and observer of violence dynamics, Beverly Baker began her education as a girl with wanderlust undeterred by tales of the boogeyman. She has dodged peril and outwitted threats on the streets of major American cities, Europe, the former Eastern Bloc and Southern Africa. She has developed and taught personal safety courses for LAPD's Community Police Academy, corporations, LA's Skid Row, women’s shelters, colleges/universities, public school districts and the general public for 20 years.
Kelly Sayre: The founder & President of The Diamond Arrow Group, teaching women situational awareness so they can move forward with confidence and live life on their own terms.
In this episode, Beverly, Kelly and I discuss:
Key Takeaways:
"When you're planning and researching where you're going, think about ‘Does this make sense for me as a single woman to go here? Does this make sense for (my family) to go to this particular neighborhood?’ Given whatever your personal circumstances are, make sure that where you're going is a good fit for you, understand a little bit about the culture" — Beverly Baker
